In order to accomplish that,
political body called Antifascist council of national liberation of Yugoslavia
(abr. AVNOJ) was established. During the WWII AVNOJ held 3 sessions (in Bihać,
Jajce and Belgrade) and they contributed to forming of new state community - Yugoslavia.
Miracles happening?
Obviously YES! Countries that
I mentioned before were part of Kingdom of Yugoslavia with monarchs from
Karađorđević dynasty. The last one of them, Petar Karađorđević at the beginning
of the WWII escaped to London (UK) with 40 boxes of gold. At the beginning
of war, rebel group later called Partisans, due to lack of weapons made
resistance through pranks to invaders. Very soon this became numerous and
strong army who made war against invaders: Germans, Italians and their
collaborators ustashas and chetniks. In order to define and establish Yugoslav
Federation, AVNOJ held 3 sessions:
I session of AVNOJ 27th and 28th
November 1942.
This session was held in secrecy in Bihać. In secrecy not only because of Hitler’s Germans, chetniks and ustashas but because of reactions of allies Soviet Union, UK and USA. Although Partisans were recognised as anti-fascist fighters, UK and Soviet Union were unpleased with that amount of power and independence of Tito. At first AVNOJ session were declared national level representatives of Peoples liberation front.

II session of AVNOJ 29 and 30 November 1943.
At II session in Jajce Republic of Yugoslavia was born! It is correct to
say like that because at this session all important decisions were brought
concerning the further course of war and principles of future Yugoslav Federation:
-Delegates, 142 of them from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia,
Montenegro and Macedonia agreed to be part of Federative Republic of Yugoslavia.
-National comity who will follow the lines of socialist and federative
principles was declared
-Petar Karađorđević was forbidden to return (although Churchill, British prime
minister tried to influence on returning of Karađorđević and to take some
governmental function)
-Josipu Brozu Tito was award lifetime title of Marshal
-it was decided to declare news about sessions and further plans concerning
the state establishing
III Session of AVNOJ 7th – 10th august 1945.
III session was held in Belgrade
after WWII. Decision about elections for Constitutional Assembly was made.
List of Peoples front won 96% of
votes. Peoples Assembly declared Federative Peoples Republic of Yugoslavia
(FNRJ) on 29th November 1945. From few rebels to Federative union of
6 states.
